Hot Spots

  1. With the ProLogo editor, an instructor can write a lesson plan and embed hot spots that will send key vocabulary and quotations to the students' cellphones and (optionally) send images to the presentation screen or local television set.
  2. The leader starts a chat session.
  3. Students from any of 200 language backgrounds can join the chat session using the QR code the teacher displays.
  4. Once in the chat, students can interact with the content in real-time by sending and receiving messages.
  5. If a student doesn't understand a message, they can click on it to get a translation in their heart language.
  6. If they are having trouble writing a message, they can click on button that translates their sentence from their heart language to English.

The lesson plan editor has several types of hotspots. Here's an example a hot spot that sends the image to the classroom screen while the text is sent to the chat room. You can imagine how a group of people who know enough English to carry on a conversation could get started discussing the topic.

Here is another type of hotspot. You can send key vocabulary inline like this: happiness, joy, contentment. Your class can look up these word by simply clicking on the message they got from you. These words can spark quite a conversation.

Teachers

Just imagine what this platform can do for you if you have non-native speakers of English in your classes. You can teach your class from a laptop, a tablet or even a cellphone.

You can progress from hot spot to hot spot by pressing the right arrow. That will trigger the next tagged text and/or image to all the students in the classroom and the projection screen. If they see something they don't understand, they can click on it and their phone will look up a translation in their heart language.

Pastors

All pastors prepare sermon notes. You can prepare your notes in the ProLogo text editor. It enables you to tag key ideas and difficult vocabulary as “hot spots”. There are probably people in your congregation who are not native speakers of English. They will appreciate your effort to help them understand your message. You probably have people who studied a foreign language in school. They might want to join the chat room so they can look up the dificult words in their new language.

When it comes time to deliver your message, progress through hot spots with the right arrow key to push real-time translations directly to audience cellphones.

If you want, you can control the slides for your sermon. As you sequence through the hot spots, triggers can control the next slide on your projection screen.
